"School near New Dorp, Staten Island, N. Y. Miss Frary, teacher Oct 16 1896"
From Edward Sinker, who probably has a family member in the picture, but no class names.
Ed says, "In my copy of, "This Was Staten Island," by Dorothy
Valentine Smith, there is a photo dated c. 1890, showing pupils with their teacher Miss Lillian C. Frary.
The school is at Richmondtown and the caption states that she made the trip daily from her home in Brooklyn,
the last portion being by stage from New Dorp.
"Judging what I can see of the building in my photo the school is not the one in Richmondtown and so she must
have moved to the one in New Dorp.
...
"In the 1880 census there are only two Lillian Frarys listed. One is married and the other single
with her family in Vermont. I assume she is the one from Vermont but don't really know."
Ed was wondering if anyone knows what school this might be or who any of the pupils are?
If so, contact the coordinator
