Transcriber's Notes

The Family History Library is a treasure trove of information for the genealogist. They have the biggest single collection of genealogical information, worldwide. We are lucky that they have gone on the internet at but we need to keep in mind that just as the Internet doesn't do our research for us, some of the best information at the Family History Library is not computerized but found on microfilm and microfiche. Here is a list of the information at the FHL. If there are film notes, then you may find the nearest Family History Center and order the film or fiche. All information is kept at Salt Lake City, Utah.

I have used their FHL catalog to collect all the Staten Island info. First, they categorize by location. I have searched New York, Richmond and Related Places (which include New York, Richmond: Castleton; Huguenot; Mariners Harbor; New Brighton; New Dorp; New York City; Port Richmond; Richmond; Rossville; Sailors Snug Harbor; Staten Island; Tompkinsville; Tottenville; West New Brighton; and Woodrow) and collated the topics together for ease of finding your info. Note that there will be many duplicates. This is for your benefit. For custom searches, author searches, or to look for your person in the Ancestral File or the International Genealogical Index, go directly to
